The importance of having a good dentist.
I think in today’s society the importance of good oral health is under valued. Yes everyone wants white teeth, but you rarely see people say “i want healthy teeth”. This has come about because it is standard practice for celebrities to have extremely white teeth and as we know, people follow what the celebrities do, its human nature. So because of this trend, the teeth whitening industry has become almost bigger than the health industry with regard to teeth.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it at least gets people concerned about their teeth and it exposes their teeth to more dental professionals. Now you’re probably asking why I am talking about oral health as if it’s the most important thing in the world. It is so important, believe me, your teeth and gums reflect the rest of your body. Some scientist believe that each tooth represents a part of your body, dentists refute this theory but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some truth to it.
So what is my message today, it is improve the health of your teeth and not the appearance, yes a white smile is attractive but the health of your teeth is more important. Besides when you take care of the health of your teeth the overall appearance improves too by default and gives that natural beautiful look.
So today’s message is ignore the teeth whitening products / services and focus on the health, if you’re tempted to sign up to a whitening service consider signing up for an overall check up instead, the benefits are way more important.
